We had to take down the old Test Track Racing and Garage to make way for our new World. Players from our Test Track will be able to keep their Cars, the Coins they've earned, and everything they own in real life. (You gotta admit ? that last part is pretty generous! I really wanted some of your stuff, but the Pit Crew said, "No way, Sparks!")

In earlier posts we've talked about customizing your Car and personalizing your Yard.
But we left one thing out. How do you get all this stuff? Does it just fall from the sky when you honk your horn? Wouldn't that be great? Not gonna happen.
Instead, you gotta have Coins. And to get Coins, you're gonna have to work for them. Lucky for you in World of Cars, work is PLAY!
Like the Test Track, you'll be able to earn Coins from racing.
And you can also earn Coins from Radiator Springs residents. Mater always has a hankerin' for more junk -- no surprise there! And Fillmore can't keep up with the demand for Fizzy Fuels. So he needs you to gather organic ingredients.

Earning Coins is always going to be fun. Racing and collecting are only two ways to do it. Do you have any fun ideas for how to earn Coins?

Last post I asked if you had ideas for stuff to put in your Yard.
I guess the answer was YES. The comments to the last post have tons and tons of ideas.
Everybody seems to want a pool or a pond. I liked Cruise Coneway's idea that if Cars can't swim, they should have floaties for their tires. It'd be great if they could go scuba diving too and water-skiing.
Another big MUST was fountains. So the Pit Crew artists drew up some sketches for fountains made by Mater out of spare junk. Thanks for the suggestion!
And HamAndCheese (um, what kind of Car name is that? Is your racing partner BLT Xtreme?) suggested topiaries.
Topiaries are sculptures made by trimming trees or bushes to look like something else. Like maybe a cone or a Car. Pretty cool idea.
Check out slinkyman. He's got it all figured out. I want my Car to live in his Yard! We really like all the interactive things you were talking about. And being able to build your own roller coasters and water slides would be totally epic.
So what else would you all like to build?

You're a Car, right? So naturally you want to Drive! Race! Explore!
But sooner or later, we all want to pull in for a pit stop. And what better pit stop is there than your own home?
Many of you suggested that Cars should have their own Garage that you can decorate. That's cool. A Garage is definitely in the pipeline.
But the first thing the Pit Crew has been working up is your own Yard. This'll be a fenced-off area that's all yours. It'll be a total blast!
You can invite any of your friends over to party, do donuts, and later all sorts of things. You'll be able to customize and decorate your Yard so that it feels like your place.
And this is where you come in. What kind of stuff do you want to decorate your Yard with? If you've got ideas, let me know, and I'll rush them over to the Pit Crew.

I was driving off Route 66 today into the cutest little town in Carburetor County and noticed some big improvements in Radiator Springs.
Time hasn't stood still in this little town. Fillmore's got a thriving business in totally organic fuels. And now he's got his own fields so he can grow his organic ingredients.
Of course, Lightning's got his brand-new racing headquarters.
I cruised past Lightning's and drove into the court of the Cozy Cone Motel. There's Sally waiting outside. She's eager for you and all the other newcomers to arrive.
I noticed that Sally has recently expanded both her business and home. Here's a sneak peek at Sally's remodeled digs.
Plenty of Cozy Cone action there!
Of course, Sally was once a newcomer herself. She moved to Radiator Springs and made herself a new home.

Last post we showed you how we design new areas like Fillmore's Fields.
This time I've got an artist's sketch based on an area we saw in the movie Cars.
Can anyone tell us who we saw driving down this road?
Was it Sarge and Fillmore on their way to Flo's? Was it Mater chasing after the Ghost Light? Or maybe it was Ramone riding low and slow?
Are there any other places in Carburetor County that you'd like to see in World of Cars?

Lately you've seen some sneak peeks at our almost-but-not-quite-finished-but-it's-gonna-be-soon-I'm-not-kiddin' World of Cars.
Do you like to draw, write and create stuff? We do too! So I thought you might like to see how we do it.
We needed to create Fillmore's Fields. At first we started off, like anybody who's creative, with a Big Nothing.
So we asked an artist to make a picture that would give us a general feeling for Fillmore's Fields and tell us what colors we would use.
Later we had to figure out what was actually going to happen in Fillmore's Fields. One of our Pit Crew artists made this drawing.
Green arrows show where Cars might drive. "RS" marks the exits back to downtown Radiator Springs.
Obviously a lot has changed in Fillmore's Fields since then, cause now it's even more awesome.

A lot of you want to know if you'll be able to Chat with each other in World of Cars.
That would be too much fun, so NO!
I'm kidding! Of course you're going to be able to Chat. You gotta talk to your friends, right?
We'll have two kinds of Chat: Speed Chat and Speed Chat Plus.
Speed Chat is for when you're on the go. You select from a menu of ready-made words and phrases. Makes it easy to say "Hi!" just as you're zooming onto a racetrack.
Speed Chat Plus lets you type in the words yourself. You can have a real conversation. Like these Cars chewing the flat in Redhood Valley.
You'll also be able to pull up any Car's personal Profile. And best of all, you can Friend them. Friending is great.
If a Car is your Friend, you'll be able to instantly travel to wherever they are. (Unless they're offline of course, in which case you'll have to take the bus.)
So what's the first thing you're going to do with your friends in World of Cars?

Okay. So last post I asked you for ideas for games you could play with other Cars.
I didn't expect to get all this:
Make your own Spoilers, a Dancing Cars game, a Stunt Arena, a Fashion Show for girl Cars, a Horseshoe Toss with Tires, Bowling, a Car Wash game, a Relay Race, and a Mater's Tow Fishing game!
Wow! A lot of great ideas. Thanks! I'll take them back to the Pit Crew. Not every idea will get into the World. But we'll do our best to put in what you want most.
A bunch of you, like Shadow Turbocharger and Torque Quickshifter, said you want Import Tuner action. That means Wingo, DJ, Boost, and Snot Rod speeding around in our World.
In case you've forgotten what our favorite road pranksters look like, here's a sweet group shot.

Okay I just got back from doing something that was super fun. And I kind of feel guilty telling you about it, cause you can't do it yet.
I was driving through Fillmore's Fields. I found a bunch of Tractors wandering around. The Tractor near me was asleep.
So I couldn't resist. I went right up to him and HONKED. You can guess what happened. The Tractor freaked and fell over. It was great!
BUT -- I think it would be even more fun if we got a bunch of us in there honking, don't you?
We want to have lots of fun games like this that you play with other Cars. And we need your help to come up with ideas.
You might have an idea from the movie Cars, like Tractor Tipping.
It could be something you saw in a videogame that you think would be pretty cool for World of Cars.
Or maybe it's a game you've played in real life, like Simon Says or Hide & Go Seek.
Just lemme know, and I'll make sure to get your ideas to the rest of the Pit Crew.

Thanks to everybody for your responses to our last post. We asked what you wanted to customize on your Car. And you're not shy. We got answers.
We took your ideas back to the Pit Crew. Now you can see what they've done with them. These concepts are fresh out of the shop!
Jazzy Snowbird wants a two-tone paint scheme with purple-on-black side panels.
Check this out, Jazzy.
Okay, it's not perfect yet. We're still working on doing a purple-and-black two-tone. But you definitely know what you're talking about -- two-tone rules!
Duke Turbowheeler says we should have some small dual exhaust pipes. Hmmm. Is that a really good idea?
Yes, it is, Duke! Thanks for thinking of it. This one's got an instant approval from the entire Pit Crew.
More than one of you has even suggested hats for Cars! It's definitely a cool concept. But there might be some technical problems to work out. Like, what if you were racing and your hat came off and someone ran over it?
Anyway, I'll be sure to take that and all your future suggestions to the Pit Crew.

So of course there's going to be a lot of Cars driving around World of Cars.
And once you're in there, the important question is: How are you going to stand out from the crowd?
The answer: CUSTOMIZATION!
Customizing your Car is what will make your Car YOU. You'll be able to squash and stretch the frame to the shape that's right for you. Then you can outfit it with your choices in gear, accessories, paint jobs, and striping.

You can see the kind of options we've cooked up so far. Got any ideas for sweet paint jobs, tricked-out wheels or other cool gear?

So does anybody want to go camping? I know this great place up in the mountains. It's got tents, campfires, redwood trees, cool lakes. Need directions? Well you just drive up Tailfin Pass, cruise down the road a bit and -- WAIT A MINUTE!!
Sorry, I forgot. I'm talking about Redhood Valley. And that's a place you can only go to in World of Cars.
Remember in the movie when Lightning and Sally went cruising out from Radiator Springs? Well one of the places they drove through was Redhood Valley.
You can do lots of other stuff in the Valley besides camping. But I can't leak any info about that just yet.
But know this! There's gonna be great places to visit outside of Radiator Springs. Some were in the movie. And some are places never seen before.
What kind of places would you like to be able to visit? Maybe it's like a place you went on your favorite family vacation. Or it could be somewhere you've only seen pictures of and always wanted to visit.
Tell us your ideas. You might be surprised at what turns up in our World. I know I'm gonna be!

Hi all, Sparks here! I'm the newest member of the Pit Crew.
Summer's over, everybody's back to school, and World of Cars Online is still coming atcha!
We need a little extra time and more feedback from you to make your World of Cars experience fun fun fun.
We're making the driving controls smoother based on your feedback, refining the Player Profile so that your achievements are spotlighted, and creating more cool places for you and your friends to explore.
As we polish up the World and add new features, we'll continue to post Sneak Peeks and Inside Info right here -- unless you really really don't want us to. What do you say?
Anyways, what we're most excited about right now is Open Beta, coming later this year. Open Beta is when we'll open up World of Cars for test drivers like you! As you explore the World in Open Beta, you'll be telling us what we need to fix or improve.
It'll kinda be like you are our bosses. What do you think of that -- you being in charge of us? Just remember to put in a good word for Sparks, por favor (that's "don't forget!" in Spanish).
